9th Grade Advance Computers Web Page
Specification List
On the web pages that you are creating for your assignment, the following are
guidelines that you should follow.
 The web
page assignment will be graded as a test grade
Your web
site should consist of a minimum of five web pages.
One of the
web pages should tell me about yourself and your family if you wish. You should also
include your e-mail address. This page should have your picture on it. You may
either use the one already on East Minico's web site, or you may bring in a personal photo
to scan in. Examples of things to include would be past schools you have
gone to, things you like to do for fun. Places you have been to.
One of the
web pages should tell me about our school. This page should also include what you
like, and do not like about the school. If you say anything negative, you should
mention a way that it could be fixed. Tell people what classes you have
and you are learning that you find interesting.
One of the
web pages should consist of your favorite web sites that you like to visit. There should
be at least ten on the page. Please do not simply list yahoo, or other
highly common websites in your favorites. They should be somewhat unique.
At
least one web
page that may talk about whatever you want. People have made pages that
talk about their family, their hobbies, and other things that they felt were
important.
Other
pages as you feel the need to include.
A link
someplace in your web site to your company you created.
One web
page that has information about two personal interviews you have done. In
the past, people have done pretty poorly on this part of the assignment, and it
is a large part of your grade. Do NOT think that if you do not do your
interviews you will get a good grade on your website.
You need to
chose someone over the age of 50 years of age for one interview, and someone under the age
of 50 for the other interview. If you interview someone who is 51, it is
not acceptable to interview someone who is 49. You need at least a 20 year
age difference between the two people.
The interview topic should be "How technology
has changed my life" I would like you to develop a list of questions to ask
each person. In the write up you prepare you need to list the questions you asked
them, as well as their responses. Ask them what technology means to them,
ask what types of technology they had as kids, and as they got older. Ask
what types of technology they feel are the most important. Think of other
questions that are unique that may not have been asked by other students in the
past.
I would then like you to compare and contrast the
answers you get from the two people and compare them. Most likely the two people
will have very different answers. Explain in the information why you think their
answers are different. I am looking for several fully developed
paragraphs, not one or two short sentences.
If you
wish, you may have other pages (highly suggested and may help your grade)
Each web
page should consist of:
- Background graphic that fits your text
- Text of any font\size as long as it looks nice
- Bulleted list or numbered list
- Pictures of any sort
- At least one table on your web site, may be hidden or visible
- A scrolling marquee is also nice to have
- Song playing in the background on one web page
- Horizontal lines and\or bars
- Any other things that you wish
I reserve the right to alter the specifications on this assignment at any time. IE. I
may ask you do other things on your web page that are not listed above.
